Cary's Lounge has operated as a neighborhood tap in Chicago from its opening in 1972. At 2251 W. Devon Ave., it serves 16 beers on draft, wines on tap, and cocktails. The cocktails are available without a dedicated menu.
The wood-trimmed interior includes a nine-foot Diamond pool table with free play. Soft lighting and a second floor add to the indoor setting, while an outdoor patio provides another place to spend time. Occasional live music is part of the program, and a friendly stray bar cat sometimes appears.
The lounge opens at 3 PM Monday through Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Closing time is 2 AM Monday through Friday and on Sunday. Saturday service extends to 3 AM, giving the Devon Avenue bar its latest closing of the week.
