A Lore Supreme by Christopher Joshua Benton at Faena Beach

Christopher Joshua Benton's site-specific, kinetic mirrored sphere is partially embedded in the sand. Towering 27 feet into the sky and expanding 44 feet across, the sculpture features more than 7,000 mirrored facets that move with the wind to create a giant spinning disco ball effect. Its re-imagined geography reflects the countries that have contributed to Miami's cultural landscape, with connections to Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America at the center of the work. Throughout the day, the installation transforms between sculpture, public plaza, and temporary public gathering and performance space.
