A Lore Supreme by Christopher Joshua Benton at Faena Beach

Partially embedded in the sand on Faena Beach, Christopher Joshua Benton's kinetic mirrored sphere towers 27 feet high and spans 44 feet across. More than 7,000 mirrored facets shift with the wind to create the appearance of a giant spinning disco ball. The sculpture's geometry reflects the countries that shaped Miami's cultural landscape, placing connections to Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America at the core of the work. Throughout the day, the installation shifts functions to serve as a public plaza and concert venue celebrating diasporic dance music.
