A Lore Supreme by Christopher Joshua Benton at Faena Beach

Christopher Joshua Benton's site-specific, kinetic mirrored sphere rests partially embedded in the sand on Faena Beach, towering 27 feet high and expanding 44 feet across. Covered in more than 7,000 mirrored facets that move with the wind, the structure functions as a giant spinning disco ball while its surface reflects the countries shaping Miami's cultural landscape, with central connections to Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Throughout the day, the installation transforms between sculpture, public plaza, and concert venue to serve as a temporary gathering space, highlighted by an exclusive headline performance from Major Lazer during Miami Art Week.
