A Kerala Dinner, Then a Corn Maze by Flashlight in Queens

Eastern Queens does fall properly: a Kerala dinner a few minutes from the farm, then three acres of corn after dark.

Save Saturday night for the maze.

🌙 Maze by Moonlight

🌽 Three Acres of Corn After Dark

Every fall Queens County Farm Museum cuts its Amazing Maize Maze through three acres of corn, and on two Saturday nights it stays open after sunset. With only flashlights to go on, the familiar dead ends feel more like a night walk than a puzzle. October 10 has passed, which makes Saturday, October 17, the last night this year. Plan on roughly an hour inside, though some groups finish faster and others wander longer.

🍛 First Stop: Kerala on Union Turnpike

Kuttanadan, about five minutes from the farm by car, cooks the coastal food of Kerala, with Malabar parotta and fish dishes among the reasons to go. Check the day's menu and ask the staff, who are happy to steer newcomers. Dinner service starts at 5:00 PM on Saturday, which is tight for a 6:00 PM maze entry; a later maze time slot gives you a relaxed meal and time to drive over and park.

🔦 Before You Go

Buy tickets online ahead. Tickets are $20 general admission plus a $1.88 online fee, and farm members get 15% off. Each ticket is valid only for the date and time slot you pick, with last entry at 9:30 PM. Entry is for ages 16 and up, and younger kids need an adult with them. Bring your own flashlight. The farm is easiest by car with free parking. The maze runs rain or shine, and tickets can't be refunded or exchanged. If the farm cancels for severe weather, you get a full refund, with updates by email.
