A Guide Meets You at the Met's Pharaoh Statue
A guide waits by the Egyptian statue in the Great Hall, then edits about two million objects into one walk.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds roughly two million works inside one Fifth Avenue building. Nobody walks all of it. A guided visit is mostly a decision about what to leave out, and this one spends two and a half hours making that decision for you.
The walk starts in the Great Hall and ends in the same spot. Museum admission sits on the same ticket, and the guide works from a route the operator has already set.

Departures meet by the information desk in front of the Egyptian pharaoh statue, in the Great Hall. Booking confirms instantly, and the reservation needs a mobile number with its country code.

The route skips most of the building. From the Great Hall it passes through the Medieval Europe gallery on the way to the Studiolo from the Ducal Palace, a room panelled in inlaid wood worked to look like cabinets standing open.
Arms and armor from the Middle Ages come next, including pieces worn by Henry VIII. The guide also covers how this museum differs from its older European counterparts, having opened before the United States reached its hundredth year.
Anything on loan or under restoration will not be on the wall that day. The operator says collections vary across the year. The named stops describe a usual run of this tour.
The American Wing, and What Hangs There

The American Wing holds the staircase from the Chicago Stock Exchange, and Washington Crossing the Delaware hangs in the same wing.
European painting closes things out. Vermeer, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Seurat are among the names the operator lists, along with Madame X, a Tiffany autumn landscape, and work from the Hudson River School.
Two and a half hours covers that whole span. Pace is the guide's call.
Skip-the-Line, Security, and Bags
The ticket carries museum admission, which takes the ticketing queue out of the visit. The security screening at the entrance stays mandatory, and the operator says its length moves with how busy the museum is.
Bags decide how fast that part goes. Large bags and suitcases do not come in. Handbags and slim backpacks do.
Some rooms restrict talking, or allow it only at low volume, and the guide names them on the way in. The museum can also close without warning. When that delays the start by more than an hour the operator substitutes an alternative, and refunds or discounts are not offered in that case.
Group Size, Access, and When to Go
One booking takes up to eight travelers, and an adult has to sit on the reservation. The operator sells the walk three ways: a private tour with a guide assigned to your group, a family version pitched at kids or teens, and a semi-private option capped at eight guests per guide.
Wheelchair access is listed on the private option and ruled out on the semi-private one. The product's general access notes describe step-free surfaces throughout, which matches the private format. At least a moderate level of physical fitness is what the operator asks for either way.
Two and a half hours is the booked duration. The private option's own description gives a range of two to two and a half hours.
Evening departures run Friday and Saturday, which the operator calls the more intimate slots. The museum is closed on Wednesdays.
Cancelling at least 24 hours before the start time returns the full amount. Inside that window, nothing comes back. Bad weather and low traveler numbers are not listed as reasons the operator will cancel.
