A Glass I.M. Pei Museum on Boston Harbor
Walk through JFK's life and presidency inside a soaring glass pavilion that opens onto Columbia Point and the harbor.
🏛️ A President's Glass Pavilion
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum sits on Columbia Point, a spit of land where Dorchester Bay meets the harbor. I.M. Pei designed the white concrete tower and the black glass pavilion that frames a towering glass atrium, and a single flag hangs in the light.
Inside, the galleries move through the 1960 campaign, the White House years, and the space race, using film, letters, and restored rooms. The route ends in that glass hall, where the water fills the windows and the exhibits fall away to quiet. Reviewers rate it 4.7 across more than twelve hundred visits. It sits beside UMass Boston, a short ride from the JFK and UMass Red Line stop.
