DUMBO Art Gallery Inside a Historic Boiler Building

See contemporary work among brick walls and concrete columns, open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to six.

See the show on Plymouth Street.

🏭 The Boiler House Gallery

Smack Mellon occupies a former boiler building on Plymouth Street, and the industrial structure remains part of the experience. Tall windows, brick walls, concrete columns, and exposed ceiling lines set a striking backdrop for contemporary exhibitions. Large works hang within the room, leaving the architecture visible around them.

This nonprofit supports emerging, mid career, and women artists through more than gallery programming. The Artist Studio residency program sits alongside exhibitions, and Art Ready adds a mentorship initiative. Inside, the former boiler structure stays visible beside the work, tying the setting to the art without competing with it.

Visitors are welcome Wednesday through Sunday from noon to six at 92 Plymouth Street in DUMBO. A bridge rises above the nearby streets, then tall windows and concrete columns carry the industrial mood indoors. The exhibition program and artist initiatives connect the building history with contemporary work.
