A Downtown Los Angeles Weekend at the Table

Friday starts with a cafe and a later Indian meal, Saturday pairs market browsing with a patisserie, and Sunday leaves room between two Arts District dining stops. Six places, without an eating contest.

Leave room for the next stop.

☕ Friday: Coffee, Then Curry

Start Friday at Cafe Dulce (Dulce Cinco) on South Hope Street, then save a later meal for Riwaaz Indian cuisine on Broadway. Keep a real break between stops rather than ordering twice in a rush. Confirm current hours, menus and dietary suitability directly; a cuisine label does not establish ingredients, availability or the final bill.

🥐 Saturday: Market and Patisserie

Browse Grand Central Market before deciding what to eat; stall choice matters more than checking every counter. Later, head to Bottega Louie for its patisserie setting or a meal that fits your appetite. Keep the route in downtown's Broadway and Seventh Street area. Check individual vendors, opening hours and current prices before committing to either stop.

🍽️ Sunday: Two Arts District Rooms

Start with Wurstküche, then leave a proper pause before Girl & the Goat Los Angeles. Both belong to an Arts District day, with different rhythms: beer-hall bustle and shared plates. Confirm menus, reservations and service times instead of assuming a walk-in table. If one meal is enough, skip the second rather than turn Sunday into an eating contest.

☔ Plan B

Rain: spend longer inside a confirmed dining stop and shorten the walking. Check current service before setting out rather than assuming every counter is open.

Crowds: pick one market vendor or finish after the first meal in a pair. A busy room is a reason to simplify, not a promise of a table later.

Tighter budget: check menus and charges, then skip drinks, dessert or the second meal. Keep the same places as options; do not assume a fixed low price.
