NYU Stern ABS Brings a Cross-School Halloween to Long Island City
Students and alumni from schools across the East Coast gather at 00:00, a club at 21-38 44th Rd in Long Island City, for three hours of dance sets, a costume contest, and a full Halloween takeover.
🎃 The Cross-School Takeover
🧑🎓 One Room, Every Campus
The host is NYU Stern's Asian Business Society, ABS on campus. Last year, ABS Halloween was sold out and packed wall-to-wall. This year the guest list widens to students and alumni across New York and the East Coast, and the organizers describe one venue, multiple schools, hundreds of people. The draw is the room around you, not a headline act. Bring your crew and represent your school.
🎭 Costumes, Decor, Three Hours
Dance sets run the full window, 8 PM to 11 PM, so the night is three hours on the floor rather than an all-nighter. The organizers bill it a full Halloween Takeover, and the costume contest puts bigger prizes on the line this year. Karpo runs a booth inside, takes over the LED screens for a branded moment, and hands out giveaways while they last. Dress code encourages upscale clothing and rules out sandals, flip flops, and crocs, so settle on the shoes before you commit to a costume. Laser lighting runs throughout, and anyone with photosensitivity should take care. Organizer and authorized media record the night; tell staff in advance if you would rather not appear.
🎟️ ID, Price, and the Door
Entry is 21 and over, and a valid physical ID is required, digital copies are not accepted. Every sale is final, with no cancellations, refunds, or exchanges, so check your order before paying. Tickets start at $14.99 on Posh, sold in tiers that can change closer to the date, and ABS members buy through NYU CampusGroups instead. The venue is 00:00, the club's actual name rather than a time, at 21-38 44th Rd in Long Island City, five minutes from Court Sq. Afterwards Dutch Kills is about seven minutes on foot, The Gutter Bar about ten, LIC Bar about eleven, and all three close at 2 AM on Sunday. The next morning is a Monday, so sort the ride home.
