The cast-iron corner at Prince and Mercer has held a bar and a small kitchen for well over a century, and the room still looks the part. Tin ceilings, a dark wooden back bar, and red-checked tablecloths set the tone, indoors and out on the sidewalk. The kitchen keeps things plain, sending out a thick tavern burger with hand-cut fries and a cold draft to match. Regulars drop in mid-afternoon, tourists find it by accident, and the noise builds into a low downtown hum by evening.
