A BYOB Party Ride Through Houston's Third Ward, DJ Included

Two hours on an open-air party truck with a DJ on board, your own drinks in the cooler, and a hop-off at a Third Ward bar, run by Houston couple Eric and LaTonya Smith.

Kulture Rides runs a two-hour party ride on an open-air truck that leaves from a paint studio on Hermann Drive. You bring the drinks. The crew brings the music, a cooler with ice and cups, and a stop at a Third Ward bar.

This booking is the public ride. You buy seats and share the truck with other groups, up to 15 riders in all, and everyone on board must be 21 or older.

What Happens on the Truck

A Vibe Host runs the music, mostly hip hop and R&B, and keeps Hip Hop Bingo and karaoke going between stops. The listing also counts props for photos and phone chargers under the seats.

It is BYOB, and the operator asks you to mix your drinks before you board, because bottles and glass stay off the truck. It does not sell alcohol or make liquor store runs, though the first bar stop is about ten minutes from pickup. Water is not included, and the operator sells a bundle with a cup, ice and water.

Where the Ride Hops Off

The operator calls its public ride the Historic 3rd Ward Bar Crawl and describes a Vibe Stop at a local bar, with up to 30 minutes off the truck. The listing plans two stops of about 35 minutes each: first The Savoy, a neighborhood bar and grill on Emancipation Avenue, then a bar on the Almeda strip, which can turn into staying on the truck depending on weather and the mood of the night.

Entry to the stops is covered, and anything you order there is on you. The listing also names EaDo and Midtown, while the operator's own FAQ keeps those routes for private and signature rides.

Weekend Times and the Rider Minimum

On this booking page the ride runs weekends only. As of November 4, 2026, Saturday departures are at noon, 3, 6 and 9 PM, and Sunday departures at 3, 6 and 9 PM, the same weekend times the operator's own calendar shows.

The listing says the truck needs at least eight riders to roll, and a ride cancelled for low numbers is refunded in full. The operator's site puts the floor at six for the truck and says a light ride may be moved to its smaller Pink Jeep, which seats up to eight. The operator also says it will contact you if a ride has to move, so check your messages before driving over.

ID, Seat Limit and the Late Fee

Everyone needs to be 21 or older and show a photo ID at check-in. Seats have a 325 pound limit, and a rider over it buys a second seat. Boarding means climbing steps onto the truck without help, and the operator says the ride is not wheelchair accessible.

The operator's booking system asks for check-in 15 minutes ahead and its website says 20. More than ten minutes late adds a five dollar fee, and after fifteen the truck leaves without you. Every rider signs the operator's online waiver before arrival, and the person who booked checks in together with the whole group.

📍 Pickup and drop-off are at Kolor My Kanvas, the operator's sister paint studio at 2207 Hermann Drive, Houston. Street parking is free as long as you keep clear of the studio's frontage, the lot next door costs five dollars, and the operator suggests rideshare for big groups. The map pin marks The Savoy, the first bar stop, while the ride starts at the studio.

The listing refunds in full up to 24 hours before departure. For weather, the operator rides rain or shine with the canopy up, and the listing's note offers a reschedule or a 12-month rain check, with no cash refund. The truck carries heaters for the cooler months, so dress for the night and come ready to sing.
