Bed-Stuy Weekday Off From Spicy Lattes to a Community Farm

Spicy lattes at 8 AM, tiramisu lattes in a backyard, raised beds on Halsey Street, then a 4:30 PM cocktail.

Take Wednesday slow in Bed-Stuy.

📍 Tompkins, Halsey and Marcus Garvey

☕ Spicy Lattes at Brooklyn Kettle

Start at 8:00 AM at Brooklyn Kettle, a tiny cafe at 385 Tompkins Avenue. The menu runs from custom oat- or soy-milk cappuccinos and spicy lattes to saucy chicken mole breakfast tacos, with an unexpected list of sake options for later in the day. The art-lined counter doubles as a small shop, and the outdoor seating suits a slow first coffee. The indoor room keeps a strict no-pets policy.

🥐 Brunch at KYO Brooklyn

A few blocks down at 326 Tompkins Avenue, KYO Brooklyn serves tiramisu lattes and chicken katsu burgers, along with bacon, egg and cheese croissants and French toast. The kitchen runs from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and the backyard garden gives the late morning room to stretch out. Laptops stay at the communal tables, which keeps the rest of the space social.

🌱 Green Time at 462 Halsey Community Farm

Head to 462 Halsey Street, open Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Local residents built this space together around urban agriculture, education and community ownership, and it serves as a platform for neighbors to cultivate crops and community pride side by side. Walk the raised beds and let the afternoon slow down before the evening stop.

🍸 First Cocktail at Confessions Bar

End at 333 Marcus Garvey Boulevard, where Confessions Bar opens at 4:30 PM Wednesday through Friday. The cocktail lounge pairs elegant decor with the relaxed, attentive feel of a family-run business, and drinks are reasonably priced. Weeknights close at midnight, and Friday adds a live DJ with a run until 2:00 AM.
