A $45 Friendsgiving Chicken Dinner for 8–20 in Brooklyn

The Fly takes groups of 8 to 20 into its back dining room for a family-style rotisserie chicken spread at $45 a head, before 8.875% New York sales tax and a mandatory 20% gratuity. Drinks run on consumption, the block is two hours on Resy, and the table sits a half-hour walk downhill from Fort Greene Park, where the afternoon starts.

Book it for eight to twenty people.

📍 Park First, Then the Long Table

🍂 Start on the Hill While the Light Holds

Fort Greene Park is free, open from six in the morning until one at night, and the climb toward the monument gives a group something to do that is not standing in a doorway. On Nov. 20 the Brooklyn sun is down at 4:34 p.m., so a 3:30 start puts you on the hill for the last of the daylight. Leave by 4:15 and head south until you pick up Classon Avenue, which runs straight to the restaurant: 1.3 miles, about 28 minutes on foot, and you are at the door around 4:45 with 45 minutes to spare before the table.

🍗 What the $45 Covers, and What It Does Not

The back dining room is where these parties sit, and your group gets its own table inside it while the rest of the room stays open to other guests — this is a group reservation, not a buyout. The $45 buys a quarter of a free-range bird per person with fries, white sauce, green beans, potatoes, olives and salad, served family style. Tax, tip and drinks sit outside that number: 8.875% New York State sales tax and a mandatory 20% gratuity are added to the bill at the end, and drinks are charged on consumption. Each table holds a two-hour block, so a 5:30 booking hands it back at 7:30.

🧭 Eight Is the Floor, and the Way Home

Reservations run on Resy for parties of eight to twenty, and the calendar is live: a time that is not listed is gone. The Fly seats complete parties only and holds the table for fifteen minutes, so the group has to arrive together. Cancel inside 48 hours and the card on file is charged $25 a person. Smaller groups cannot book the back room at all, because The Fly calls itself a mostly walk-in restaurant, and four to six people who arrive early take a regular table. The patio closed for the season in October, so this is an indoor plan either way. The C at Clinton–Washington Avenues is a ten-minute walk from the door; the G at Classon Avenue, eleven.
