92NY Art Center

Designed to support contemporary art-making, the facility houses dedicated spaces for drawing, painting, and a robust ceramics studio. The latter is equipped with 25 electric wheels and a mix of gas reduction and electric kilns, providing a workspace for students to master handbuilding, coil, and pinch techniques. Across all disciplines, instruction centers on small-group sessions that allow for sustained attention from faculty. While the studio is recognized for a friendly, phone-free atmosphere where students connect over shared creative projects, some long-term participants note that tuition costs have climbed steadily over the years, occasionally outpacing the perceived pace of facility upgrades.
