Visit NYC's 9/11 Museum for Free on Monday Evenings
Read the names at the memorial pools, then go underground into the stories behind them, with one free entry at 5:30 PM.
🕯️ The Names First, Then the Stories
Begin outside at the memorial pools, free and open daily until 8:00 PM. Stand at the bronze parapets, read a few of the names, and listen to the water falling into the voids. Then walk underground, where the museum gathers the artifacts and personal stories behind those names.
Regular admission is paid, but Monday evening tickets are free. Reserve online from 7:00 AM Eastern that Monday, first come, first served. Each free ticket carries one entry time, 5:30 PM and no later, and the museum closes at 7:00 PM. The museum suggests 45 to 90 minutes inside, and with a short free window it helps to choose two or three galleries before arriving. Audio guides rent for 11 dollars. Children 6 and under enter free but still need a ticket.
It suits anyone who wants to understand this part of New York history, on their own or quietly with friends and family.
