🐘 Amazing Animals Night

🍸 Filmmakers and Full Bars

On Friday, Nov. 13, the museum stays open from 7 to 11 p.m. for adults 21 and over. Filmmakers and special guests join for the evening, alongside after-hours exhibit access, full bars and small plates. Music and science demonstrations are listed separately for the night. Tickets are $23.95 online and $18.95 for members, three dollars more at the box office or by phone, with taxes and fees added at checkout.

🎬 A Special Premiere Screening

The night's theme is Amazing Animals, featuring a special premiere screening of American Amazon, a day before it opens to the public. The 45-minute giant-screen film narrated by Jon Batiste follows cypress swamps, blackwater rivers and swamp bears across the South. Before the screening, walk WildWoods, the 10-acre woodland immediately behind the museum and reached from the museum terrace, with a canopy walk and walking trails; past it lies Fernbank Forest, a 65-acre old-growth forest.

🥪 Dinner First, Then Dinosaurs

Manuel's Tavern has poured since 1956 and sits 1.9 miles from the museum, about a 10-minute drive according to maps, a workable first stop before the 7 p.m. start. Weekday food service begins at 11 a.m. and serves until closing. Parking at Fernbank is limited, and the museum asks guests to take a rideshare. Bring identification, tickets are nonrefundable, and moving a date costs two dollars per ticket.
